We recently had the opportunity to interview Madame Sabrosa and she provided plenty of insight about her musical background. Please see the transcription from our phone interview below:

Contact Atlanta: Where are you from and what are your interest?

Madame Sambrosa: New Jersey but now in Raleigh North Carolina. My main interest are songwriting and being an artist, but my primary interest would consist of writing. I like to write about storytelling, time traveling, and life’s experiences.

Contact Atlanta: Who could you see yourself writing for?

Madame Sambrosa: Well you know that I am full blooded Dominican so I already have the Caribbean vibe going on….. I do some songs that would be like a Rihanna or Nelly Furtado….. up tempo and fun types of songs…. I would really like to write for an artist that carry themselves well and really have plenty of talent.

Contact Atlanta: What artist inspire you to write?

Madame Sambrosa: It’s kind of funny to say but Billie Holiday because everyone can relate to her because she is a great storyteller. She keeps you in suspense…. Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu because of her stage performance and her positive energy.

Contact Atlanta: I noticed on your blog that you have interviewed, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Chuckee, and Yelawolf. What were you able to take away from your peers during these interviews?

Madame Sambrosa: I learned that a lot of people forget that the artist are people as well… and they all have different personalities….. Lil Chuckee is the young, aspiring, and flirtatious having the confidence in trying to talk to someone older with no fear. Yelawolf was more humble and basically stated that he wanted people to know who he really is.  Wiz was enjoying life and reaching his peak of potential. They placed   emphasis on the fact that life is a process and they all taught me to be true to yourself….. Whose to say that I can’t make it!!!!!!

Shouts out to Madame Sabrosa and all of her projects/endeavors. Special thanks to Lillie Mae, PR Director for The Industry Connect.
