Cam Major – Gimme All Jordans

Atlanta has produced some of the hottest rappers and singers in the game, and young rapper Cam Major is no exception. While a full time student at Hampton University, Cameron Kelley, who goes by the stage name Cam Major is working hard to earn his stripes.

Cam Major has been rapping since the age of 12, when his mother brought him his first microphone. He has been fascinated with music ever since he was a young child. It was his father who first introduced him to hip-hop, when he gave young Cam his old records from the early 80’s. When asked what attracted him to the music he explains, “it was how artists could simultaneously put words together and invoke strong emotions that gave me the desire to do the same.” However, it was not until he was older that he began to actually perform his rhymes. Cam continued to practice and promoted his own music. During his senior year of high school he performed at his high school talent show. Major rapped over Yeezy’s 2007 track “Stronger” and won first place. Then in 2009, he dropped his first mixtape “No Applause Needed.” He later went on to perform at different colleges and universities such as Spelman College, Georgia State University, NYU, St. Johns University, and his own university- Hampton, along with many others.

This past April Cam Major dropped his most recent mixtape “Birthday Boy” where he received over 1,000 downloads within the first few hours. Currently Cam is working on his first EP entitled “One Night Stand”, which will include all his original songs and features from other artists.
