The Rat Pac

The Rat Pac, two MC’s from New Jersey who are poised to help put the East Coast Hip-Hop scene back on the map. Since meeting in 1999, Abwon and Nikkels clicked instantly and immediately began performing as the Hip-Hop duo we know today as The Rat Pac. With both good and bad experiences thus far in the Hip-Hop industry, The Rat Pac are taking the good with the bad, and making the best out of every opportunity.

With quite the sense of humor, The Rat Pac’s debut album cleverly titled “Self-Titled Debut” (or “STD” for short – interpret that however you would like) The Rat Pac prides themselves off making many different styles of music. With radio ready music at the helm, Abwon and Nikkels also like to wrestle with serious topics, and also concept records. The “STD” album is now available digitally all over the internet through all of the major digital retailers.

By taking the project digitally, The Rat Pac has been able to reach a broader audience, from North America all the way to Europe. Going against the independent grain, The Rat Pac fully admits that they are currently looking for major label distribution and are not looking to remain as an independent unit.

No stranger to adversity and controversy, The Rat Pac gained lots of publicity for there infamous video, “the 10 worst singles of 2008.” If that wasn’t enough to cause an up-rise in the music industry, be sure to also check out there, “top 10 worst rappers video.” Gaining nearly half a million hits between the two, these respected videos may provide as the catapult that takes The Rat Pac to stardom.

With the ability to write catchy hooks and deliver punch lines in an old school format, The Rat Pac is the perfect example of blending the old with the new, to create an entire fresh and new Hip-Hop style, which is sure to gain popularity as it gains the proper exposure.
